Biokuka

Help to save the Amazonian rainforest

About the project

Biokuka is a project by rebuilders of the rainforest in the Amazon with the focus of permacultural ecological agriculture and self-sufficiency, in an area where monocultures, agrochemicals, forest fires, etc. are big threats for nature. They provide ecological education to their visitors and inspire local organizations to both stop deforestation and find sustainable solutions in rebuilding the rainforest.

Pucallpa is a fast-growing city and fewer people can afford the entrance fee for the garden. Biokuka cannot afford to buy the tools they need to build new specific projects such as an island for recycling projects. With the money from Socialbnb guests, they want to lower the entrance price for local schools, universities and other institutions to give access to ecological education to everyone. Furthermore, their ambitions are to create a workshop with all the tools they need to build even more interesting interactive stations then they already have right now, to implant an awareness of the ecological problems they have to face today while demonstrating sustainable solutions at the same time.
