Do you wanna go on Safari?
We are excited to present a new African country in this platform: Tanzania!
There is a lot to tell you about Tanzania, so lets jump right off into the introduction, shall we?
Tanzania is located in central Africa and shares a border with Kenya in the north. Just like Kenya, Tanzania has a long and gorgeous coastline on the Indian Ocean. Dar es Salaam, the captial of Tanzania, once used to be a small fishers’ village, so naturally it is placed right the coast. Hard to believe that Dar es Salaam used to be so small, since nowadays it is one of the fastest growing cities in the world.
If you want to experience the ocean from a different point of view, you might want to take a 30 minute boat trip starting in Dar es Salaam and going to the island Bongoyo. There you will find beautiful fine sandy beaches and it’s the perfect place to snorkel.
We cannot introduce you to Tanzania without mentioning Africa’s highest mountain which happens to be in Tanzania: Mount Kilimanjaro. It is simply breathtaking to stand in the middle of the Mount Kilimanjaro National Park and just gaze upon this snow-topped mountain mass that seems to rise out of nothing. If you would like to hike up that mountain, you surely can do so any day, but it’s mostly recommended to hike during the dry season from late July until October. If you prefer to watch the animals living at the foot of the mountain, you might be lucky to see Buffalo, Elephants, Leopards, and plenty of different kinds of birds, last one being the reason for many bird watchers to visit this amazing national park.
When it comes to animal watching, there is one place you have probably already heard about: the vast Serengeti National Park. Animals like Antelopes, Lions, Cheetahs, Hyenas, and Jackals can be spotted here. It’s the most famous park in Tanzania because of its astonishing safari experiences.
Tanzania not only holds the highest African mountain, but also part of the largest freshwater lake in Africa. You won’t come across as many tourists here as you would at the Serengeti Park or at Mount Kilimanjaro. The city of Mwanza is definitely an attraction at Lake Victoria. Mwanza is a great mix between landscape, culture, and entertainment. The local fish market is also a place to visit as well. The Bismarck Rocks and the Dancing Rocks are interestingly shaped granite rocks that are famous for this region.
So, whether you want to spend your time at gorgeous beaches, going on safaris, enjoying such a unique landscape, or learning about different cultures, Tanzania is the perfect place to be!
