WHO ARE WE?

Socialbnb is an online platform that connects the growing number of travellers with NGOs that offer unused rooms as temporary homestays. It is an innovative approach with the objective to sustainably stabilize the cash flow of NGOs to reduce the loss ratio of their social projects.

OUR MISSION

Socialbnb wants to minimize the donation dependency of NGOs and provide an alternative accommodation on the online marketplace and hospitality service.

NGOs combats the core issues of civil society worldwide with their projects. Unfortunately NGOs have a huge donation dependency, which compromise the success of the projects.

Apart from existing providers, travelers want to experience an alternative accommodation close to locals.

OUR SOLUTION

An innovative online platform that creates a network between NGOs and tourists and connects them for mutual benefit. NGOs can register their profile on our website, list their unused bedrooms as homestay, and thereby reduce their donation dependency. Tourists on the other hand can book well-priced accommodation, experience the lifestyle of the „locals“ during their stay, and associate this with the positive side effect of social engagement. Using this concept we represent a social, local and sustainable alternative in the marketplace and hospitality service.

OUR VISION

Homestays powered by a NGO will be a real alternative for accommodations to be considered on every trip.

WHAT OTHERS THINK ABOUT SOCIALBNB

Nick Ray
Nick RayAuthor of Lonely Planet
“Socialbnb sounds like a great concept to me, it’s sort of like that AirBnB concept with a conscious, which is great. I think the idea of marrying backpackers and their desires of having local experiences with projects with education, with health, whatever initiative it is, I think it’s great, a great way to basically helping Cambodia when you stay here.“

“In Pang Na you forget about all your worries or other problems. Despite the mosquitos and the stifling heat, the week I spent in the village was one of the most relaxing and impressive times of my life. The inhabitants extended a warm welcome to us, so we felt like being home from the first second on.”
